There are three qualifying partners at Compadre; Russell Coffman, Villado Enriquez and Kevin Pino. When we formed the company in 1997, we chose the name Compadre to express our dedication to our clients’ best interests and to emphasize our personal approach to every project. We build just a few custom projects a year and each one is supervised on site by one of us personally. We work closely with our clients and architects during the design phase, providing input on materials and methods, value engineering, and the latest in technical issues; and budget and scheduling information. During construction we are onsite every day with our employees and subs so that each detail of the work gets complete attention and the job progresses smoothly. We also provide detailed documentation with progress photos and “as built” plans .
Each of us have been building in Santa Fe for close to 25 years and have extensive experience with adobe construction styles, and the alternate “thick wall” innovations that have been developed over the years, such as Performwall, poured pumice-crete, AAC block (autoclaved aerated concrete) and the ICF (insulated concrete form) systems. You can see examples of these in progress in our Photo Gallery.
The blending of high quality interior and exterior finishes, fine woodworking, extraordinary stone work and metal craft is another unique aspect of the homes we build. We have extensive and long term relationships with many of the finest artisans and craftspeople in New Mexico. Villado’s expertise in all types of plaster work led to him being featured on HGTV”s Modern Masters series episode #207.
Compadre has been involved in historical restoration work as well as renovation of some Santa Fe landmarks. In 2002 -2003 we did the restoration of the Mary Cabot Wheelwright House at the Los Luceros Ranch in Alcalde, NM.
